And I would know that she's there because the clinking sound of her feet would announce herself before she came; I used to think that she wore rings around her toes to make that click, click, click sound. But it was just the pads of her feet touching and lifting off the ground. Recently, I started making those sounds too... 

Is it that I am older and the surface area of my feet getting bigger because I never made those sounds when I was little. Or, was I walking in her footsteps, ladened by the similar condition of growing up. Now as I write this, I am 23 years old. When I first perceived the sounds of her feet, she was... 37?

How long had she had those clinks in her feet? When did it start?
